Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject

Course overview
Course description
This course is part of the Multiply Norfolk project, with a focus on improving the numeracy skills of Norfolk residents by embedding numeracy within other subjects. In this case supporting people to budget and create healthy, nutritious meals that are cost effective. On this hands on course, learners will learn fun and engaging ways to budget, choose healthy options and put their knowledge into practise ,creating healthy meals, and to foster a positive attitude towards learning and numeracy. Learners on the course are attending the under 1 roof service at present. Clients have been recruited from under 1 roof directly. They attend the setting regularly and the course aim is to enhance wellbeing, knowledge and skills and to improve maths knowledge and implementation, in a fun and practical way.
This course will be delivered face to face at a local venue. Participants will have access to Canvas (where possible). By the end of the course, learners will have identified practical strategies to understand basic food hygiene, basic nutritional information to support them to make healthy choices , some maths learning will be applied ( i.e. budgeting, quantities and measurements , as well as timing etc) making maths learning fun.
