Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
Learn about the teaching and learning environment in a school. Understand the different job roles that exist, such as learning assistant, support worker, and various admin roles. Understand the process of child development and factors which improve child well-being. Learn ways to support children’s well-being and safeguard them. Gain practical skills for communicating with children and young people.
This qualification is ideal for anyone considering a job role at a school. It is suitable for all types of learners. This course can be the first step for anybody wanting to get a teaching qualification or work in a support role in a school.
This course usually takes around 3 months to complete. The aim is to prepare learners for further study. When you complete this qualification, you can progress to a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges. You can also study other child development courses to gain deeper knowledge.
Your tutor will assess your learning through different tasks. These could include presentations, posters, leaflets, or worksheets. These tasks will be included in your portfolio for assessment. Your tutor will guide and support you during your learning process.
