Course description
In this online Latin course, you’ll develop your knowledge of grammar and syntax. Start to tackle more complicated texts in Latin. Learn to read, interpret, and understand original texts. Gain awareness of the historical situation surrounding them. Improve your translation skills from Latin into English.
Continue to study the historical context in which Latin was written. Learn about the Roman Empire and the political and social situation of the time.
Gain transferable knowledge to apply to any language learning. This fascinating language is considered the blueprint for modern languages. Learning Latin can help you understand the etymology of various European languages, including French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian.
This course is for intermediate-level learners. You should have a foundational knowledge of Latin to do this course. It is ideal for you if you have previously completed a beginner’s Latin course.
When you complete this intermediate Latin course, you can progress to advanced Latin.
