Course overview
We will discuss the main sources of water pollution and the types of water pollution. We will list the
major sources of water pollutants; describe the effects on water due to organic materials, plant
nutrients and toxic, physical, and biological pollutants; list the main diseases caused by
microorganisms that can be carried by water.
Course description
At the end of the lesson participants are asked to list at least three actions we can take as
individuals to improve water pollution their everyday life. They should know what is meant by
sustainable development and can discuss what makes a goal sustainable/unsustainable.
They can review the progress towards an SDG. They will understand the meaning of environments,
habitats , ecosystems, and water pollution.
