Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.
Course overview
Course description
In many parts of the UK, a driving licence and access to a car can give you more options for jobs, your family’s education and many leisure activities. If English is not your first language, then this course will introduce you to some of the important skills and knowledge to improve your confidence with the English language, pass your driving theory test and gain understanding about the UK road system and rules.
You will need access to a laptop or smartphone and to the internet to access learning materials. Laptops are provided for use at the centre.
You will also need a copy of the Highway Code in booklet form (cost £10). Please bring this to the every session.
You also need to be working at a minimum of Entry 2 English to participate in this course but you do not need a certificate or qualification of any kind. The tutor will tell you if this course is suitable for you and can direct you to alternative courses to help improve your English language skills.
