Course description
This is a preparation course at pre-entry level. It is designed to lead on to study at Entry 1. It is not an accredited course.
The aim of this programme is to help you start or continue your ESOL classes with the knowledge you’ll need.
First Steps in ESOL is an English course for adults. You will develop basic English language skills. It’s aimed at complete beginners so you don’t need any prior knowledge to sign up.
Before you can enrol on this course, you’ll do a skills check. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. You will complete an initial assessment at the start of the course to ensure you are placed on the right level course for you.
When you complete these sets of courses, you will be ready to move on to learning at ESOL Entry 1.
This next step course takes around 60 hours to complete. It gives you more opportunities to learn the skills required to progress on your ESOL pathway. The follow up course will be Get Ready for ESOL Speaking & Listening Entry 1 in term 3.
