Course overview
Course description
Come and join us if English is not your first language and you would like to prepare to apply for the UK Driving Theory Test. If a lack of confidence with the vocabulary needed for the test is holding you back, this course will help you to improve on the language skills needed to be able to attempt it.
As well as the technical language needed to understand the test, we will also learn about the language used in the Highway Code and lots of information about different types of transport in the UK. We will learn about road signs, road markings and some of the rules of driving. We will talk about the safety of all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists, as well as car drivers.
This course is not suitable for learners who are beginners in English language. You need to be working at least at Entry 2 level in order to participate in the course.
On completion of the course, learners should continue to consolidate their learning and improve their skills by continuing to revise what they have learned. They should be better placed to feel sufficiently confident to book their UK Driving Theory test. They can also continue to develop their English skills by joining an ESOL course.
