Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This is an ESOL course for adults. Before you can enrol on this course, you will need to do a skills check. This is for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. This course is for people working at Entry 3 level ESOL.
This course will help you to improve your English in all skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening – but the focus will be on speaking and listening
You must be able to ask and respond to questions about everyday situations, follow a short conversation and talk using different tenses (past, present and future).
There are 5 learning outcomes on this course. You will need to achieve these outcomes in order to pass the course. You are expected to attend the classes regularly and be punctual. You are expected to participate in class and complete any homework given by the tutor.
On this course you will learn to:
• ask and answer questions in familiar situations.
• use suitable phrases to give your opinion clearly in a discussion
• respond to other people’s contributions in conversation
• use the present perfect tense to talk about experiences
• listen for and identify detailed information in a text
