Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
What we’ll cover: • Understand how to combine writing elements and features to produce texts with a specific purpose (to inform, entertain, persuade etc.). • Recognise the appropriate level of detail required in different writing situations. • Understand how to present information in a logical sequence, using paragraphs and layout to help you. • Have a clear understanding of how to use punctuation in your writing. • Develop a high level of accuracy using compound tenses and complex grammar. This ESOL level 2 course focuses on how to improve writing skills in English. It is for adults. You need prior writing skills to take this course, that’s why you’ll do a skills check to enrol. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for you. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking. When you complete this module, you can continue with other ESOL skills for life level 2 courses. This is the highest level ESOL qualification we offer. There are also reading and speaking and listening courses. What to expect: This online ESOL level 2 writing course takes 37.5 hours to complete. Please note that you’ll need an internet connection to study this English course. This is so you can access our digital learning platform, Canvas.
